Day Adult Students are provided guidance for ACT and SAT Testing, as well as career exploration planning and placement through the ASVAB CEP. In addition, certificate courses are offered for students and adults transitioning into the job market. Our program will help students prepare for the next century as lifelong learners and productive participants in the community and the workplace.

The John Hope Education Center combines the facilities of Day Adult High School, Community Academy, Learning Center, Alternative Options, Adult Education and Youthbuild Programs to make this Indianapolis Public School one of the most comprehensive credit and non-credit secondary schools in the state. Conveniently located near downtown Indianapolis, it is easily accessible by car or IndyGo Bus.
Our students share educational experiences with adults and non-traditional students. Our guidance office, dedicated teachers and staff insure a total program for our unique population. More than 900 students are served each year in Day Adult, along with an additional 500 plus students served in the GED & ESL combined programs at this site. While the alternative numbers vary, at least 225 students are accommodated annually as needed. Classes are held year round and student teacher ratio is about 22 to 1 except in the alternative classes which are smaller. At John Hope we endeavor to encourage unity and strength within our school community, loyalty to the IPS District with an emphasis on the values of Courage, Excellence, Scholarship and Respect. Last, but not least, success for all of our students through the collaborative efforts of community colleges, workforce partnerships, parents, students and staff.
